Yesterday, I picked up a new Stanley FUBAR (Functional Utility BAR) from the local Farm&Fleet store. I didn't buy it for it's intended use. I bought it for it's potential use as a "survival" tool. The blade is NOT sharp; but, I will make it so. Once I get it nice and sharp, I'll run it through some outdoor paces -- chopping, splitting firewood, etc. This is a heavy duty tool with several designed striking surfaces. Unlike most of our knives, this thing is built to be beat on, as in batoning the back of a knife to split firewood. Here are a few photos: fubar01 by tjwilhelm148149, on Flickr fubar02 by tjwilhelm148149, on Flickr After I got this baby home, I started looking online for feedback and reviews from other users. Accidently, I discovered yet another interesting tool. It's made by Innovation Factory and it's called the Trucker's Friend. Looks pretty sexy, to me... First I've seen of the truckers friend. Looks like something you'd see in the thunder dome. Looking forward to your fubar review.

The FUBAR was $24.00. I don't have the Trucker's Friend (yet), but I've seen it advertised for $49.00.

Do they make the truckers friend in leather and polished chrome? Good finds, those are interesting. Let us know how the test goes.

I have one of the FUBAR items, but not that one.
I have one that is more like a massive monkey wrench. It is a brute and something very handy to have in the car.
