Geez this sounds so much like what I do too minus the truck, I'd have to place it on my bike. ;D Jimmy I guess you and I have been making up BOB's long before the term got coined only now they carry extra kewl gear to help us get further.

ColcordMama yes you can get a lot in the tub but it will be hard to carry if you have to abandon your vehicle. You can get a lot in a 5 gallon bucket and you can carry it when you need to. Or consider two 3 gallon buckets and carry one in each hand. I can get enough food, water and everything else my wife and I would need for 72 hours in a five gallon bucket and none of what I have in it will spoil in the car trunk in the summer. Just saying.

Too, if you have to abandon your vehicle and your items are in buckets all you need is a long sturdy branch to hang your buckets on and two people can carry the load to make it easier than carrying it with your hands.

Ah yes dear, you're exactly right. And that's why I included lightweight backpacks in the tote. <smirk> Oh, and I also have an accordion-style plastic water storage container with carry handle in there, all folded up into a small space until I need it.
