Just wondering, as popular a subject as BOBs, GHBs, etc are, we have limited talk it seems, or maybe it just comes in spruts... Just wondering, do you BOB? Yes I do. It actually is a whole different hobby for me. Probably got more BOBs, GHBs and other BAGS than the law allows... ;D OR are BOBs and such just a waste of time and just a bunch of nothing about nothing... What about you? Jimmy

I BOB.
I have an on me BOB, a 48 hr BOB for everyone in the house and in many cache locations, a 72 hr BOB in each vehicle and a cache, a camp BOB at the farm, in the RV and in a cache. I have everything for a year or more at the farm a months worth in the RV and more than a year at the house.
I don't intend on bugging out unless I am run out by a fire or tornado or other such thing, or if it will be better to move to the farm.

I BOB, but that's just because I only know how to doggy paddle. Srsly, yeah, I have a big plastic tote for my BOB. Don't keep it in the car because cars here become ovens in the summertime if they're parked outside for any length of time at all. You'd be surprised how much good stuff you can get in one of those $7 totes if you pack carefully. I think with mine I could feed, defend and house 4 people for 2 or 3 days, plus do car repairs, keep myself alert for long stints behind the wheel, camoflage my van in a forest, navigate anywhere in the state including on forest roads, warm the (parked) van overnight, wipe hind ends, purify water, and signal another vehicle if we were caravanning on a bug out. (Is caravanning even a word? Is now, huh?)

Caravanning is indeed a word. I bob, but I'm lousy at bobbing for apples.
