I travel for work sometimes by plane and sometimes by car/truck/rental. When it's not by plane, I carry a 1 person BOB. This is separate from the one kept at home for family. I thought that I would share the contents (i'm sitting in a hotel room doing an inventory anyway).
This bag started as all the extras that I picked up while I built or upgraded my home BOBs. What wasn't hand-me-downs from the home bag, was purchased from either Walmart, Academy Sports, or Amazon. I tried to track the approximate costs...it was much more than I originally thought. Probably could have been done cheaper, but this one cost around $300. "Big ticket" items (cost >$10) were the pack, knife, multitool, FAK, fishing kit (although this was put together with extras), water bladder, poncho, crank flashlight, headlamp, firesteel, stove, and LS shirt.
