When all this was going on I thought of a friend of mine and called her, some may remember me talking about her before we had a few classes together, she has been really sheltered and only learned how to drive after I taught her when she was 26 years old. She is one of the few people that know we prep. Although she doesn't know to what extent. She lives in a really bad neighborhood and has been slowly getting things together. Her mom thought it was silly but didn't nag her about it. When Boston went on lockdown her mom finally woke up and asked her "do we have go bags?" What if that happened here? My friend looked at her and said 'we all have go bags and I even put one in your car along with some extra food and water and first aid kit, tomorrow I will show you how to use everything in it." I was amazed I thought her mom would never wake up. They had some pretty bad tornados come right by their house about 4 years ago and of course they had nothing ready. I thought that would wake her up but it took Boston to do it.

It's nice seeing and knowing that there are LE and others who would do this, but I do concur with the original question.

It was nice of the police officer. But can't a 1 1/2 year old child go a day without milk? And why do people let themselves run completely out of something if they view it as a necessity. I'm not even talking about stockpiling preps. Scary.

Maybe, But I find it scary that people in general can be that stupid. And once again, I think the kid would have made it without some milk. They must have had other food since I don't see the officer delivering juice and babyfood.

I agree and yes it's not going to hurt to go without milk for one day, but they didn't know how long they would be on lock down . Maybe they tought they would be there days on end??? I don't know...I can't imagine being that unprepared especially with a child. I for one would not have asked the officer to do that. Don't get me wrong he went above and beyond and I know cops do extra deeds everyday that go unnoticed. But that to me was taking him away from the task of finding the bomber.

I would have to agree with you both on this one....they would of been S7$t out of luck with me.
