Has anyone heard about this? From what I can tell the talk started on a forum and then they decided to post it on Facebook to get more attention. They are planning an Open Carry March on Washington DC on July 4th this year. This should be interesting. I'm glad I don't live anywhere near there. www.facebook.com/events/252728144871259/#!/events/252728144871259/?mall_view=posts

If they get 1,000 people to show up I'm thinking the D.C. Police will have confiscated 1,000 LOADED firearms. OR.. it will get very ugly and violent and will be a blow to the 2nd Ammendment supporters... OR.... It will demonstrate a need for all gun owners to stand and be counted and exercise their rights.
As you may have figured out I'm undecided on whether this is a good idea or not.. confrontation for the sake of confrontation usually ends up being ugly for both sides.

I think this is going to benefit the gun grabbers and make 2nd amendment supporters look really bad.

I think this is going to benefit the gun grabbers and make 2nd amendment supporters look really bad. Probably. The media will focus on the people that appear to be nutjob extremists and use that to make gun owners look like a bunch of morons.

God I hope it stays peaceful and quite. That could get so ugly. I know I would not attend that.

One hidden government sniper, and a few thousand armed protestors = a blood bath for both the protest, and the second ammendment.

I like the idea of marching for your rights under the law. But I see this as a chance for those in power to send in agent provocateurs.

Why not just march in support of rather than risk a potential debacle? I just finish3d The Overton Window and am suspicious of anything of this nature as a result

Adam Kokesh is legit, but I don't know about others involved.

Adam Kokesh is legit, but I don't know about others involved. If that idiot is involved it is sure to be a bad day for the 2nd Amendment, and probably for a ton of those there on the ground. That fools only point in life is to be a pain in the police's side. The fact that he was a marine means nothing to me. He is lumped in with that alex jones guy in my eyes.

I think that is a Bad idea on all levels. Going to a place armed and loaded where that is prohibited, is just looking for confrontation, and I am sure they will find it. What better time to show the news what a bunch of loons look like all in a group? At best they will loose their guns, and at worst a bunch could die. How dumb is that idea? Hmmm, almost as if someone planed it that way?

While I applaud their cause, I disagree with their methods. If they go through with this and are arrested, tried and convicted - they will then be felons and lose a whole lot of rights.
Granted, it may open up court cases that eventually see their way to the supreme court, but with its current make up there is no guarantee on the outcome.
Ultimately, I think it will give gun banners exactly what they want. They will be portrayed as nut jobs, and many of them will be disarmed if convicted.

If they are arrested it will be in violation of the law. DC vs Heller ruled in favor of the 2nd Amendment.

Who thinks the Government is hoping and praying it happens so they can cause a scene. I know this guy is.

If they are arrested it will be in violation of the law. DC vs Heller ruled in favor of the 2nd Amendment. Is their a ruling on open carry in D.C. I can't help but assume that there is no way that is allowed. The argument of it is constitutional doesn't work if there are laws forbiding that same act. The IRS was unconstiutional until it was legal. Just saying, hope cooler heads prevail.
