Well I was very excited as my Mother's Day gift I ordered came in today. Yea, I ordered one of these and am so satisfied with it. It's basically a hunting vest and the reason I ordered it is because when I want to go walking in the woods no matter how near or far my pants pockets just aren't enough. Of course Missasip's glorious EDC he gave me for Christmas is very handy but has limited space. This vest is the ultimate backup to my EDC. It's many pockets inside and out can accomodate many items you'd probably cram into a BOB. With this vest you can offload some of the weight on your back and have easier access to some of your more important items. There's even a side pocket which is deep enough to hold a bottle of water. Does anyone else have one of these and what do you think of it? Below is a link to a short video a guy made showing off some more features. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIZG-7B56cQ

It sounds like a wise investment to me. I agree there are never enough pockets in a pair of pants and besides after awhile the weight will make your pants very uncomfortable.
I have been thinking about getting a vest of some type you may just have steered me to the right one.

Again I wasn't disappointed. On the inside, each side has one deep mesh pocket which would probably fit a wired notebook just as an example.
Facing the front of the jacket, there are five pockets on the right size. Some wide and deep, some small and deep. Also on the side of the vest is the open pocket where a bottle of water would fit.
The left side has two large and one small pocket. Again, the large ones are wide and deep and the small one is deep. On the side is another pocket like shown in the video. Two of the larger pockets on the front have slots to place six shotgun shells each for easy access. Of course you can use these for other items like say a BIC lighter or other firestarting method.

I think vests of any type are helpful and easy to wear. More comfortable sometimes than even the LBE (load bearing equipment) in my army days. More pockets, more convenience and accessibility. I often look for different types of vests to have on hand, from turkey to tactical to camping to photography to fly fishing. many uses and variety out there and with some ingenuity you can revamp the original use to something to fit your needs. good job CL

Nice vest! I've been looking at those but am not sure I can make one small enough. So I got a fishing vest with a bunch of pockets. i haven't loaded it up just yet and am curious to see what I can get in it.

Sporty vests come in various designs and yes are comfortable also. It's all the more fun deciding what to put in those pockets in order of importance or ease of access. I haven't started packing mine yet, just got it yesterday so I'm still thinking things out.

Good deal honey I think you hit a home run The problem I run into with many pockets, is trying to remember what pocket holds what For me that can become a big pain in the butt. I sure wish you had a video camera so I could come alone on your walks, that would be very That's funny. I guess women have a jump on keeping tabs of items placed in which vest pocket cause we use the same system with items placed in our purse pockets too.

I knew there was a reason I should have bought that man purse.. dang it..
Actually if you think about times past.. when mountain men (not Mountain Mark you understand) carried their stuff in their 'possibles bag' and in the Army many carry what is referred to as a map case, which of course it is but it sure carried other stuff too. I also agree that too many things in those leg cargo pockets is a pain, figuratively and literally

Yep Thywar, time to buy the man purse so those cargo pants don't drop to your ankles like OT's and to prevent any more pain.
