I believe you would be better off getting that combo new. They are not that expensive, and you can get it with a 12 gauge which for ammo, is far more prevalent.

If the gun is in good shape and well under MSRP, I wouldnt hesitate to get it. 12 ga is more prevalent overall but there is plenty of 20 out there. I actually think in a single shot configuration 20 ga would be more shooter friendly. Can you mount a scope on the 223 barrel?
Thanks for posting this cause Im trying to find a good survival gun to put in my big red box and a Rossi multi will fit the bill nicely. Looking at the 243/20/22 trifecta. If you get that 223, let us know how she shoots.

Has a good kick with that hollow stock and all.

A family member has one of the sets, but all anyone uses is the 22. I have made fun of it with the plastic sights and stocks for several years now, as the entire family of kids, grand kids, moms and dads have shot the pizz out of it every weekend when ammo was available. The back sight finally broke off a while back and was replaced with a take off from a Thompson black powder, and it soldiers on today. Riding on the handle bars of a four wheeler while doing ranch and farm work. The only noticeable thing on it is that due to HEAVY use, it is extremely loose jointed but has no ill effect on it. So, I would say..go for it. What can you get for that price?

I bought my 10 year old Grandson a set for Christmas last year. .22/.243/12 added an adaptor to shoot 20 and .410 in 12. .22 and .243 are drilled for scopes. My first gun was a .22 over .410, I think having a single shot makes you make the first shot count.
I can get a 12 ga. and a .22 adapter for $200 it breaks down good and makes a perfect cache gun. They make barrels in .223, 7.62, 3006 whatever. But I am weird that way, I put Hi-Point 9mm as cache guns. For under $150 they make good "disposable" get to or back my real gun, guns.
