As many of you know I am making strong efforts to keep my guns in same calibers. So I have been looking for a summer carry gun.i stopped in my new favorite shop and they had a Springfield xds and a xdm compact. I opt3d for the xds for strictly carry but now I am s3cond guessing. Capacity is only 5+1 or 7+1. Most 1911 models are about the same while weighing much more. Any thoughts or experience with the xds? All the videos and rag reviews are 100% in favor of the 21oz xds.but opinions here arevalued

I've settled on glock 30's for primary, and either a PPK 380 or airweight .38+p for back up. |

Not sure about the cd, but I carry an xdm full size in a cbst holster every day. It's a full size gun with 16+ 1 capacity, not too heavy with a good belt and holster, and with the cbst I can conceal it with a t shirt. I got mine when they first came out and have yet to have a malfunction. Great gun if you ask me.

I have the full sized XD 45 and the sub compact XD 40. Love em both.

I have the xd 45 tactical but I ama pretty thin guy. Can u link what holster? Still considering changing the layaway to the 45 compact. It comes with 3 mags and grip extensions. Thanks for the feedback

Sorry my phone changed XD to CD. The holster I use is a Crossbred SuperTuck Delux. I have been using the same one for about 5 years now. I'm 6'1" and about 190. As far as I know I have only been noticed once. It was by my uncle at a family function. He carries and knew I did too so he was looking for it. Otherwise, I'm not too concerned with printing or even accidentally exposing my gun. In Ohio we have open carry so no crime is being committed if it is exposed and in the last 9 years that I have been carrying I have notice that people are totally oblivious. If they see a bulge on your side they automatically assume it is a cell phone or something. Here is the rig I use  |

I carry an XD subcompact in 40s&w in a Tucker Gunleather "Texas Heritage Holster". It is an IWB holster and is very comfortable, I wear it from about 6:45 a.m. til about 10:00/10:30 p.m. everyday and have been for about 8 years now. Here is a picture of my setup.  |

I will have a review of this gun and the modifications done to it and my full size along with what is in them so those interested can get their own. I was taking pictures for this when all hell broke loose for a few minutes here. See my other post for more info on that but look for a separate review coming soon.
