Well, I took my son fishing yesturday to Channel # 5 in the Florida Keys. It was about 1.5 hour drive but it was well worth it just to get away from the jungle of Miami. We got there around 3 pm and stayed until 1030 PM. It was windy, hot, and appeared like if it was going to rain when we got there. However, we got lucky and not a drop of rain came down. We were mainly catching small grunts and snappers. We kept 6 fish that were worth keeping. The best part of the trip was spending time with my son watching him do what he loves, and that is fishing. This is what it looked like when we got there.  My son with the first catch  Yes, the one and only, the man with the plan, the sexy savage, yours truly....lol 2nd catch of the day...small grunt  Started clearing a bit  A visitor looking for scraps  This is just plain awesome !  Yours truly again enjoying the night skies and stars  |

So happy y'all finally took off and got away from the everyday grind for a while. Six keepers make a meal, good on that. Hope y'all get to get away more.  |

Heard of another channel that is further down that you catch nice size snappers. Will give that a chance next time we go.

We sure had a great time, I get a kick out of watching him reel in a fish...he reminds me when my dad used to take me fishing. He gets the scales off the fish and watches me clean it. |

What are ya using fer bait? Watchin youngins catch something is a bunch of fun. I'm using squid for bait....it's never failed me. I buy a big box of squid for about $13 and pretty much last all day and still have left over. I cut the squid in chunks |

outstanding, time with the kido and fish too.
we were going to take the boat and rv to the lake but its due to rain every single night, grandkids would just be all cooped up,
