Ham radio was her link to terra firm during her voyage. Jeanne Socrates, KC2IOV, a 70-year-old sailor and retired math teacher, completed her around-the-world nonstop, solo sail on July 8. Socrates took off October 22 from Victoria, British Columbia, in her 38 foot sailboat Nereida. That's a woman you can count on. I'd like to listen to her stories for about a month.. I bet they're fun.. (or else she spent so much time alone on that boat she can't relate anymore).. Ham Radio.. I've really got to get my stuff together and get that done.
