I'm looking at 12 vdc led strip lights to go under the cabinets over the counters in the kitchen. Have looked at www.superbrightleds.com/. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these things. I have a solar panel that will charge two 101 Amp hour batteries and am thinking for emergency use only. Comments?

I don't have any solar powered ones but I did buy some LED stick up lights and put them under my kitchen counters. There are 3 of them and when you turn them all on (they're just the push on push off kind and are about 3" in diameter) they really do pretty well in a dark kitchen. Enough light I could mix something up under them. I also put one in each bathroom. Probably need to stick a couple on top of the headboard too. They came from Lowe's and were about $5 a piece. I use them for emergencies

We did our whole house in LEDs and power them with solar. We have some undercabinet LED lights and love them.

For night light or low level we put rope lights under the counters just off the floor. The reflection of the floor gives plenty of light when you don't want to turn on the overheads.
We also have rope lights for the RV, we string them around the boundary of the camping spot so we can see in the dark and not be blinded or bother other campers. We also sting them on poles or other possible trip or head hazards that the camp site may have. They work well and they don't attract bugs like some of the other lights.
Even Chrismas string lights will work, just make sure you get the independent ones so only one light can be out and not the entire string.
