Was talking to my wife on the phone the other day. Out of the blue says she wants to start the process to get her CCL when I get home and get settled . So I says, who is this and where are you hiding my wife? Lol. Said she wants to cause she sees alot of stuff going on in the world and wants to learn how to protect herself and the kids. Here is what I know after a decade of marriage: 1) Shooting lessons will come from someone else. Oh, I'll go for support and will take the class too but, I aint gonna be the one giving her lessons. No sir. There is something about trying to teach your wife these things that will land you straight in the dog house. At least for me anyway. 2) None of my guns will do. Nope. For sure I'll offer her one of my pistols but she is gonna want one of her own and Ill be glad to let her get what she wants as long as its what she wants and it works. Im not gonna push her to get a pink one either. If she wants grips to match her whatever whatevers - done. 3) She's buying the gun and Im paying for it! Im cool with that. If I can stay out of the way enough for to shooting be fun for her and let her get into it, we should be able to add a whole new dimension to date nite! Ill keep ya'll posted. Wish me luck.

Your not teaching your wife sounds like the same reasoning I used when I had Ceorlmann take driver's ed. Sure, I could teach him, but it's better coming from someone else. It was the same with math & reading for both of my lads. They hear it with fresh ears and it's absorbed better.

Congrats! Another instructor will probably be more patient. She can ask questions she might think are silly. And the instructor probably will not over instruct which tends to happen when it's your spouse.
