Schools certainly need security systems(unfortunately) nowdays, including armed security officers. They do not need to be highly paid police resource officers, but could be decently paid trained security officers. Now my thoughts: 1. This is a touchy feely Obama program. 2. Grants only last a couple years then the schools/towns will have to pick up the costs 3. Train a few teachers to respond and pay they accordingly. No security/resource officer needed

With the high taxes in this area, making the towns cough it up is no big deal. That $$ amount is pretty par for the area too.

Our schools refuse to hire any security other than police officers. God forbid there's such a thing as a good guy with a gun other than a police officer.
