Keep a sheet of paper in your wallet, purse, EDC, BOB or caches for those just in case something happens times. Friends, family, insurance agents and emergency numbers are all very helpful. While you may have the majority of these numbers stored in your cell phone, it may be dead, lost or stolen.

Once upon a time, I was able to keep everyone's contact info in my own head. Once I had kids, I started writing everything and carrying it; something about having kids turns part of the brain to oatmeal. Similarly, my gradebook at school is longhand and physical. Every quarter I must submit progress reports and grades online so report cards can be generated. OK, but in the event that the website isn't functioning, my grades can still be recreated. Anything that can be affected adversely in a power outage needs to have some sort of physical backup that's accessible as needed.

Agree AH, power outages are another reason for hard copies of different info. In regards to campers, hikers or other emergency situations, it could make a frantic situation into a more coping one. You may draw a blank trying to remember numbers during or after emergencies so having it written down gets you in touch with others who you rely on the most at such times.

The FEMA web sight provides a nice form called a contact list, I modified it to excel and have it available in all needed locations.
It works for me.
