Well been doing some looking and thinking about dropping some coin on a 887 Remington Nitro Mag. It had issues when it first came out a few years back, but they appear to be resolved.

Anyone have any experience with one?

Oh yeah there will be an 835 available if I carry forward....

I know that I'm hearing good things about them these days, but never even shouldered one.

I've been a 12ga guy my whole life, but life happens and fledgling businesses need cash - so now got whittled down to my 12ga Winchester 101 O/U and a basic Maverick 88. I'm quite happy with the performance of 2-3/4", and I can shoot them all day long. Having the flexibility to go 3", is great.

The world of 3-1/2" is expensive because it's more like small artillery:

A 600 gr slug at almost 2000 fps is around 4,700 ft lbs. of energy. It's still supersonic at 100 yards and hits with almost 2100 ft lbs.
