....Do your preps include clothes?
Actually over the past few months I have been working towards building up an extra couple of storage tubs worth of clothes and shoes. Though I have a large tub of shoes, they are destined for trade or whatever should things get that carried away.
Do you have clothes in your preps!
Just a different subject to talk about.

To a limited degree. I remember reading on here that someone stocks bolts of cloth to sew with. I like that idea.

Yeah I do.. it'll be easier to modify existing clothes than it will be to create new clothes.. although I too like the idea of bolts of cloth.. preferably denim and muslin (that is muslin NOT muslim.. just for the record) Oh and flannel.

One pair of Danner boots - One pair of Sorel pac boots with gators . 2 "wooley pulleys " and various other woolen and gortex shirts - trousers and socks . Am a firm believer in wool and layering ones clothing . I came upon an old treddle sewing machine for 40 bucks . Foot powered - needs no electricity . Had to machine a new part for it and it now works great . My sewing $***s , but a lady friend of mine makes it work like a dream . Have lots of extra needles and an extra leather drive belt put away .
You have all reminded me --> Need to get some bolts of flannel - wool and other fabric .

Boots socks and underwear. Also keep a couple of good size pieces of leather for making things.

Tons of extra clothes in many sizes. At least 4 pairs boots for all family members -snow, hiking, summer. Every sale I try to get a deal in a pair. Underwear for all. Old but neat jeans many sizes; many "work" logo'ed shirts and jackets because since DH works for brewery, Salvation Army and Goodwill won't take that stuff. Probably 10 extra coats and 10 jackets. I take seriously WI weather and really watch sales. I have gotten full down jackets from Lands End for $10!

Lots of extra clothing in lots of different sizes already stockpiled. I have tons of stockpiled yarns so I can crochet and knit socks, hats, mittens, probably even underwear if I have to. Hey, anybody want a cool pattern for a crocheted man's cap with a crocheted (removable) beard? Would make a good Christmas gift for a guy with a cold face and sense of humor. They are very popular right now too.
Let me add something: if you have babies or couples that are likely to be producing babies in your family, you should stockpile cloth diapers and diaper pins along with baby clothing. Disposable diapers would be a vanishing resource in an apocalyptic world. Word to the wise.

I have pants in several different sizes, multiple shoes/boots, etc. We also keep a box of shoes/boots for barter as well. I have lots of yarn as well but, I think starting to stockpile cloth would be a great idea!
As for the baby items, I have formula and bottles just in case too.

Always wanted to learn how to crochet (as I hear the real men laughing in the background ), but don't have the eye - hand coordination or the patience . Would probably just hurt myself .

I guess I will stock some small patches I can put over the small holes in the clothes I liberate, I don't think the previous owner will care and I don't think the new owner will either.
Based on the level of stupidity and the numbers of sheep I think clothing will not be an issue for several years to come.

Even better if you find it handy to have a stick with a hook in the end of it so you can grab that loop to pull it through the first loop. Lots of men crochet. "Crochet" in fact is a manly man kind of name for a craft, because it's French for "hook." Aaargh, matey, shiver me timbers and pull a loop through the first loop, then keep doing that to make a chain. Isn't that how you like to store rope and hose and like that? See, told you. It's a manly craft after all.
