Been fortunate enough to squirrel away a few bucks to buy my 9 yr. old grandson a .22 rifle for Christmas. He started hunting this year even got a 9 pt. buck. I decided a bolt action would be a wise choice to practice on and later move into a 10/22. After looking a quite a few I purchased a XT-22 Youth Marlin (see link)it should fit him nicely www.marlinfirearms.com/firearms/xt/XT22.asp
