Gonna get the reloading bench rollin here soon and was wondering if anyone has taken .38 cal rnd nose lead and wallerd out a hole in them to make HPs to load in 357 cartriges. Figure I could rig up the drill press somehow and set the depth stop on it for consistency. Any thoughts?

Far more consistency that way. I've used these molds with some good results. hollow point moldEdit: Do remember it's wise to load weaker rounds if your shooting lead. If you want full power loads, go with copper jacketed hollow points.

If you do decide to drill your own, use SWC-158's. Also they make a specific tool for reaming them. Sinclair and others sell them. Have fun either way.

Haven't tried the boring out thing. Did the old hollyweird trick of cutting an X in the tip, didn't work like in the movies. Somewhere along the road I tried loading this backwards, for the the 38. Didn't see much dif. at short range, BUT sure looked mean. www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/86754
