My fire kit covers many ways to start a fire, from flint and steel to firesteel, toy caps, empty Bic, and fresnel lens. But no matches! none, someone pointed out to me the importance of having matches in a kit. After thinking about it I have to agree. Also i'm a little embarrassed that I over looked something as important as stormproof matches. Anyhow I picked these up today and will be adding them to my kits. Comes with 25 stormproof matches and two spare striker strips.

Wow! I never saw any that purported to burn under water. They probably have the same ingredients as those trick candle. I don't think they burn under water but relight when exposed to oxygen. Ill have to try this one day.

Months ago while surfing websites of various outdoor gear I came across the video below demonstrating these stormproof matches. I was quite impressed and looked for them the next time I went to town but couldn't find it so I ordered mine online. They are very reliable just like in the video. Mine came in a clear watertight bottle. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6cq8eRXtwE

Now I know if I accidently step, crush, drop in water, bury in dirt or accidently drop in a hole then cover it with mud...they still work lol. Now I wonder why they come in a watertight container lol Loved the video thanks for posting

Dunno why mine are enclosed in watertight bottle. Maybe too much exposure to dampness will cause them to deteriorate over time. Mine are made by another company and came in the bottle with cotton on the bottom. I flipped all the matches with the heads in the cotton, then took both circular strikers, placed them back to back and they fit smugly in the cap. Done deal!

I've never seen these before either. Looks like something everyone should have in at least a BOB or EDC.
