I had a chance to shoot this today and while I will not be running out and dropping $2K on one any time soon, it got me to thinking about the advantages of a close order/urban assault type rifle. Around corners and in confined spaces it would be great, much better than the standard AK/AR, but is it worth it to have it an a more traditional 300 yard rifle. I will always have a bull barrel .308 for shooting further than I can see, but I consider the AR/AK to be a 300 yard rifle. This thing I would say 100 yards. I pretty much agree with this review. www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/06/foghorn/gun-review-iwi-tavor-sar/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TavorWhat do you all think?

Looks like alot of flash and not much substance. The AR works great for clearing rooms, also there are many AR's out that have no butt stock and allow for a much shorter version over the regular AR. The AR is also a component system allowing for change of calibers fairly easy.

Saw them when they first came out, but never fired one - didn't read the review - so my opinion could change, but: Too much money for a special purpose weapon, for MY needs. Likely a great weapon for the intended purpose.

Looks like a great CQB weapon and would likely be great for maritime applications where space is a premium. For me, I am not a big fan of bull-pups. I like the ergonomics of the AR myself. But hey, still could be fun to put some lead down range with.
