That was pretty good. This really say a lot. (you will need to defend yourself as others reap the fruits of years of television watching when they should have been preparing.)

Self defense is also important as keeping warm and fed. This past week,there were reports of individuals knocking on doors,impersonatating power repairmen.Their tactic was to gain entry into homes and rob.Thankfully,none allowed them entry. So keep your guard up,especially after a disaster when there the LE are stretched thin

Guy knocks on the door, wearing a hardhat, reflective vest and even has some type of ID. Says he needs to check the panels. I can see a lot of people falling for that in a power outage. Glad non in your area did.

I prefer to stick with the label "winter" rather than using terms like "polar vortex" and "icepocalypse" so as not to buy into the language of the climate-change, global-warming crowd. Other than that, I liked the article. It made some good points. These events have happened in the past and they will happen again in the future. To be unprepared for even these minor types of events is just silly. Hopefully the recent weather will wake some more people up to the advantages of preparing.
