I could never consistently stay on target at 1000 yards, just didn't have it in me.

I was pretty good at 800 and could shoot your eye out at 400, but just couldn't do 1000.

Maybe now with the new weapons but with my eyes 20 years ago,

but these days I have to keep it at 300 to do a five inch group.

And I am not complaining, I am happy with that, still shooting with my right eye after losing it in 2004 and getting it rebuilt. I wouldn't even shoot a pistol for five years after because I was still afraid of the concussion.
