Well we had 40 Quail hatch today and all of them are doing great. We should have 30 more tomorrow, then we will see. Incubator holds 120 Quail eggs and it was full. What will hatch will be over a four day period, after that the eggs didn't make it. So far we only plan to keep five of the 40 hatched, 4 Jap and 1 Corturnix, the rest are red mountain. We have all that we don't want for the hatch already sold.

Well we hatched 92, a good patch. We kept 9 Jap and 3 of the yellow ones. We sold the rest to a man my son works with. He put them in a brooder with a light and a piece of tin pulled loose water got to the brooder and he lost them all. He was so disgusted he told my son to come and get what quail he had left. Sat before last we went over and he had 10 hens and 4 rooster Bob White. I just don't like to try and raise Bob White domestic, they take a month longer to mature, only lay 30 eggs a year and get sick from every and any thing. We kept them separated out and they seem OK. We kept out 25 eggs to hatch and put them in runs 3 hens to a rooster. But I do admit I like to hear them singing at sun down. The roosters have the white face.
