Lessons learned: gathering big rock slabs, 8" x 30" x 10" and about 200 lbs for steps will smash your finger. When using a nail gun shooting 3" nails on a 2 x 6 into plywood the nail will protrude about 1/4" into your finger. Using said nail gun or swinging a 28 oz hammer will give you tendinitis in your elbow. Lumber yards sell really crappy non-dried, crooked pieces of lumber that really aren't the exact measurement advertised requiring each piece to be measured and cut to the length you really thought you were buying. Who knew a 2" x 6" x 16' piece of lumber would really be 1 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 16' 1 1/2" which will really screw up your building if you don't have an experienced neighbor to point that out. Being green wood, that straight piece of lumber you nailed up for a ridge would dry and twist two days later making me C R A Z Y!!!!!! Yes I'm smarter but the lessons can be painful and exponentially increase your vocabulary simultaneously

Yep, for now a good aggravation. When finished, aggravation overcome by satisfaction of completion.

That last line on the wrapper is not what I'd expect to see on a tp wrapper

So I need an update on Camp David. Were you able to complete the well house? What's next on the agenda? One more, what train artifact did you buy cuz your dad worked on a certain train?

The building itself is done. Still have to roof and paint it and put some trim around the windows. Electrician should be out next week followed by the the guy to actually install the well pump. I found a lantern at an antique store. Thought it was cool and was used on the railroad.

It's roofed (but we didn't get the felt down before the rain so it's got more waves in it than the US Navy) and the walls are painted but still need to paint the trim. It's got electricity and pump goes on tomorrow. Plumbers are out tomorrow also. Move the fifth wheel out Thursday Then it will be.H O M E. Camp David is reborn.
Oh one more thing. My neighbor built a cupola for it. Turned out great. Weathervane is the army insignia.

If not, this is definitely a plus in your own backyard. Looking forward to pics, especially of the cupola and weathervane.
