Here is a video I made a while back on the pine pitch/ oil lamp. I was going to send you a rock that can be used for the container but just about anything can be used to hold the pitch /oil. Sea shells work great but may crack from the heat. Anyhow here is the video of my pine pitch/oil lamp

Thanks for reposting this video, I think it's kewl. Another idea for a pine pitch container is an Altoids Tin.

I do like my rock because it looks more bushcrafty I have to improvise, the biggest rocks I can find are pea sized if and when I find them. truth is with pine pitch even a piece of wood would work but after a while the whole thing will be burning. You could use dirt or clay to form a protective layer on the wood then lay the pitch down on the dirt add a wick and light.

Gotta be an imposter. OT don't use no stinking lighter. Your right about that but to save time and show how most people would do it. I myself would have used my firesteel and some tinder to light it. By the way I do carry a lighter it's packed in my edc on my side, no matter how good you are or think we are a bic could save your life. In my book that is the best skill to have the skill of staying alive. Other then that I hate lighters lol
