I came across this idea while working on another project requiring me to cut some of the belt for other uses requiring a web strap. Anyway most of us have these style belts laying around, military web belt. I like taking camping or hunting because I can bundle up firewood, use as splint etc. Well here is another use at the buckle (because the end of the belt will be hidden)lossen buckle and move out of the way, simply light the end of the belt and let it burn for a bit(most belts are cotton)I let it char along the entire end, extinquise when complete. Now when you need char cloth you will be wearing it. I have pictures if anyone wants them.

Still I like your idea, very much outside the box.
