I have two revolvers and I LOVE my S&W 357 magnum with crimson trace. I also have a S&W .38 that is awesome as well!

I carry a S&W snub nose 38 spc. It's a model 60 J frame. If I were to get a new one I get the one that has the concealed hammer. Only thing bad about a wheel gun is the trigger can hang up on a pocket.

I carry, but I mix them up...1 is always my Taurus 40 cal PT101AF...the other 2 carries, I jump back and forth between a baby Beretta Model 21A-22LR when I am in shorts or such...and the other is a revolver S&W 38 Spec. Officers pistol. But I want that 357 MAG so bad I can't help but get excited when I see it ...never mid how bad I felt when I had to put it back down the first time I got to hold it.

I own 3 at this point. One is the S&W 500. As it has been said: it's a beast. If one can't handle a 45 ACP then one shouldn't even go near a 500.
My other two are an Armscorp 200 38 spl and a Heritage Arms Rough Rider (22LR/22MAG). Those two are for my pistol classes that I teach.

I vote for a pre-Hillary Hole SW 686 or Ruger GP100 with 4"or 6" barrel. +1 on that.

I know this thread is long since dead, but I ran into some of my Army buds at the local range and they had just picked up a used .44 mag revolver. I don't remember the exact model or manufacture. He let me shoot six through it and I was damn impressed. Recoil was very managable from a 4 ish in barrel, but the dang gun weighed half a ton. IF you don't shoot them you can kill them with it by throwing it. Just thought I would share my fun day. That is all. Carry on.

I'm deep buried into .357 with multiple wheel guns, a lever rifle and a healthy stock of ammo.
If I were to start over, I just might go .44 mag instead. The ballistics out of a rifle at 100 yards is downright impressive for a handgun caliber - about 80% of the energy delivered by a .30-30. Hot loads out of .44 mag shot from a rifle are still supersonic at 150 yards and hit with around 800 ft lbs at that distance.
On the other hand, my .357 wheel guns let me deliver fast follow up shots with less recoil and still hit plenty hard at 150 yards with a rifle.
OK, I admit it: I would love to have some .44 magnums!

I have a nice S&W 38 Special officers revolver...love it!
I am looking at the Taurus Judge 45/410 or the Taurus 405 (since I already have a 40 cal and won't need a new ammo caliber)...plus its perfect size for CCW.
But I would really like to have a Ruger 357 GP100 ` Model 1707 357 magnum/38 Special with the 6" barrel...yup, I like this one A LOT!!

I plan to get a 44 mag rifle one of these days...I use to have couple of 357's pistols but they went the way of many others back in my heavy buying /trading days....What I do like about the .357 wheel guns is the fact you can shoot 38 specials through them as well....I might have to pick one up ......
