Great score on the stock pot for $5.00, is it s.s.? You're right about knowing how to rig a distiller should the need arise to use one. That is something I need to set up for myself. Thanks for posting.

Very cool project. I toyed with one a while back but like your design much better. One think I did find was that a longer condenser tube that I coiled and could keep cool made it more efficient. I was using seawater to make drinking water.

I have thought about putting a pot of water into a solar oven (cardboard box within a cardboard box, painted black, with glass cover. Gets very hot, don't know how hot. Run the copper coil out a hole in the side of the box.....
