A guy that I know through work, just picked up a Keltec PMR-30 today. (30 round .22 WMR semi auto pistol for those who don't know the gun)
He hasn't shot it yet, but I'm really itching to see how it performs after break in. He bought a good supply of CCI and some Hornady with it to try out. These pistols are really hard to find, but he bought it at our tiny local gun shop for $396.00 out the door with sales tax. It took a couple of months for it to come in, but they called him this morning.
His wife is a little thing with small hands who just can't get comfortable with her .380, so she just won't practice with it. He's hoping that this pistol will work out better. I'm in line to buy it if she doesn't like it - but I'm willing to bet that HE will want it.

Seems like agood price, most I see are from 540--600+. The grip is kinda odd shaped and long from front to rear for short fingers. Then there is the KELTEC trigger, though somewhat shorter and lighter than others in the family. If mag ammo was not hard to find I would buy one if they ever come back down. I just sprung for a Savage mod 12 vlp.dbm fat barrel in 22.250 varmint, less scope so it might be a while?

I once owned it's predecessors. Grendel P30 pistol, and P31 carbine (1990-1994). The concept was a good one, but they had a lot of problems.
I have read that the keltec version had the same problems, but unlike the grendel variants, keltec has addressed those problems.

It is an interesting weapon.... Now if Ruger would come out with a Mark style pistol and and a matching 10/22 type rifle in22 mag, I would be in the waiting list... Jimmy

PMR-30

I passed on one of these when they first came out mostly because of the price of the 22 magnum vs the 22 long rifle. I had a 22 magnum rifle at that time and sold it as well.
Then the 22 LR became impossible to find for a while and the price has become what it is.
Makes me wish I had kept the rifle and bought the PMR 30.
But I won't be doing it for the pistol or the rifle, I have placed my small caliber run in the hands of the 10/22 and the Ruger 22/45 and am too far into them to change now.
Its the 22 LR, 9mm, 7.62x39 and 12 ga. for me all the way now. Well except for one little combo rifle I am putting together.
I am even seriously considering a 9mm rifle like the hi-point or the one you can create with a glock and glock mags. I do have several calibers of shotgun inserts for the 12 ga. That will be my method to use found ammo in a caliber I don't stock.
And right now I do still stock the 7.62x39 rifles and ammo. Every time we group shoot I hear someone complain about how heavy my SRS(s)/AR's are, so we weigh their loaded down with everything AR and find out mine are not that much heavier after all.
And before someone says so I do admit for the size and weight an AR shooter can carry more rounds then I can but, its something I will have to live with cause I ain't changing my plans at this late date.
Sorry off track some
