Being right handed, I decided to try shooting my revolvers today using only with my left hand/arm - wow....... Serious disconnect of reflexive hand-eye coordination! I pushed almost 200 rounds downrange today and found out just how hard it is to shoot with my "wrong" hand!
Eventually, I didn't get almost a little bit closer to where I think that I might have been sort of aiming - but then, "close" might be open for interpretation!
I'm going to do some more, just because it was so darned hard for me!

Interesting thought to test yourself using the non dominant hand. We covered making fires and doing other things using the "wrong hand". It's a challenge I'm sure but may be a lifesaver someday. Keep pushing yourself and it'll get better.

I agree Marc. I started doing it with a smaller caliber pistol just to see and maybe control the recoil better when I moved up to what will be a larger caliber. But it's an eye opener for sure to realize if my right hand is damaged I better be able to put my hands on a shotgun

Marc, here is something that will help, though it sounds crazy. When shooting with the off hand foot and body alignment is still fundamental but as you set up your shot, take your normal shooting hand and make a tight fist and place it over your heart right in line with your nips and apply pressure like you are shooting. Called a sympathetic respose. I learned it shooting high level PPC. Thought they were jackin with me at first, till it worked. Sounds nuts I know.

The only thing I can add is to cant your weapon a bit to utilize the dominant eye. BTW I suck using my left hand past 5 yds.

Lol Actually, yes. Only not so extreme. It helps line up the dominant eye and provides just a bit of stability shooting weak hand unsupported. Try it nxt time your on the range and see if doesnt help out.
