I think we have discussed this topic but did we ever do a survey? Conditions of Readiness: Condition 0 – Round in the chamber; hammer cocked; thumb safety is OFF; full magazine in gun. Condition 1 – (Also known as “Cocked and Locked”)- Round in the chamber; hammer cocked; thumb safety is ON; full magazine in gun. Condition 2 – Round in the chamber; hammer down; full magazine in gun. Condition 3 – Chamber is empty; hammer down; full magazine in gun. Condition 4 – Chamber is empty; hammer down; NO magazine in the gun. detailed explanation of each condition and their recommendations here www.usacarry.com/carrying-cocked-locked/again I may use a different option depending on what I am carrying so maybe it should be "most often carried condition"

The condition I carry depends on the weapon.
When its the Colt 1911 its cocked and locked, condition 1
The Glock, not cocked but ready to fire so it is more condition 1 than 2 but.......
Beretta M9 fits more condition two, round in chamber, full mag. safety off.
I always considered my finger was my safety, if I don't touch the trigger it ain't going to fire
IMO condition 3 and 4 you might as well use the gun as a club or throw it for all the good its going to do you.

While I love a Kimber 1911, this is why I carry a Glock. Draw, point, pulll = BANG! No muss, no fuss. They are K.I.S.S. Semper Paratus handguns IMO
