Based on a real quick search Remington Arms has sold 8 million 870s and over 5 million 700s. That's only two firearms from one company. Now let's be generous and say the 8 million shotgun owners also own a 700 rifle. Assuming 70% of those are republicans and live far away from the communist states previously discussed I'd say that still makes for a hellacious Army. So many firearms and it's looking like we are going to soon be in a target rich environment the way things are going. Watch your six and keep your powder dry

And that's just Remington....... There are close to 12 million concealed carry permit holders in the USA. Most gun owners do not have carry permits - extrapolate that into how many homes are well armed. All types of guns and ammo are still selling well. Because of my work, I speak with people all over the country. It is clear to me that some parts of this country continue to arm up and lay in ammunition. Wonder if that number includes the Govt. purchases? I know Homeland Security has a gazillion 870's.

I love my 870's, all 5 of them
Or I should say loved
I took them all out for spring cleaning and the boat tipped over and they all went to the bottom of the lake
