Been fishing alot lately and due to the ground being to dry for digging worms, I decided to stock some up. I dug a hole in the ground and inserted a bucket with a lid (in the shade) with air holes and also holes in the bottom for drainage along with window screen to prevent the worms from getting out. Bought some worm bedding and feed and have been adding worms, Any suggestions? I have been keeping the bedding wet but not dripping wet, and adding feed everyother day depending on the volume of worms left. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

One thing is not to get it to wet, and mold will also kill your bait. Make sure the bedding stays fluffy and pick out any dead worms.

Last fall we bought 1000 red worms and put them under our rabbit pens, we moved the rabbits this fall and some of the worms maybe 10 feet away. But 90% of the worms followed. So every time we clean under the rabbits we add some worm and worm poo into the compost.
Don't need to feed them or water them the rabbits do it all. I do throw some wet newsprint under there some times.
I know the red worms are not the best for bait but the work as an all around good worm and we have a lot more now then the 1000 I started last year.
