This video is 9 years old; but, I was just introduced to it yesterday. It's only had a bit over 2,000 views in since 2006, so I'm guessing most of y'all haven't seen it yet either.
This little 3-minute movie was fascinating to me in particular because of my sense that energy issues will be a great contributor to TEOTWAKI. The author also accurately nails something most folks don't think about -- our modern, industrial age, with a population that has surged over 7 billion, is an oddity and anomaly in the scope of human activity on this planet.
If you're familiar with Louis and Mary Leaky's discovery of "Lucy," in the Olduvai Gorge in Africa, then you know the data indicate that we (humanoids) have been here on Mother Earth for at least 3 million years. In all that time, our population on the planet appears to have remained below 2 billion. It wasn't until we very recently (in the scope of our existence) started using coal as a fuel, saw the development of the steam engine, and discovered the energy-magic of petroleum fuels, that the global population started to grow exponentially to where it is today. The fact is, our modern age is just a very tiny blip on the timeline of history.
This video seems to put down prepping and promote prepping simultaneously. A viewer's impression will be based on their own perspective. If you think prepping is stupid, this video will reinforce your belief. If you believe prepping is a wise necessity, this video will reinforce your belief.
