Reading this I realize it is not the latest version. I wrote on it for a couple of years to get it where I thought it was right, the last version ends with being forgiven my the missing three, if I find it I will post.
It was a very moving experience to say the least.

In this holiday season, please reach out to those who have served and let them know they are still remembered. It doesn't take much to simply call and say thank you, but it can mean the world to them.

...and God Bless our War Veterans. Give them peace and comfort in their troubled times. Let them know their sacrifice was not in vain, that many in our land hold them in high esteem. Many didn't want or ask for their Nation's call, yet still they went. Many brave men and women, serving their country, into harm's way. For those who gave all, for those that have never returned, for those still making this nation great, let us always be grateful to them. And never, ever forget.

Visited the wall at night; the night before my last audition with the Prez Own. I quietly thanked Airborne for not being among the names on there.

And God Bless America, let's pray it remains to be "the land of the free and the home of the brave". Every day that is less and less. Freedoms are eroding weekly, judges feel they can legislate and legislators feel they can keep ripping people off. King Hussein and his minions write 'law' daily that violates the constitution with not even a whimper from the other two branches who have abdicated their duty and violated their oath and 'we the people' keep reelecting them. So freedom is out the door. I'm surprised there are enough citizens who would still take up arms to defend this great country. They send them into harms way with a pat on the back and rules of engagement that stabs them in the back and then charge them and try them if they aren't politically correct as a war machine. When the 'home of the brave' needs a safe place and therapy because words are written in chalk on the sidewalk, because a dormitory is filled with cops who are protecting the political orocess, or someione else's freedom of speech becomes hate speech then we've become the 'land of the whiny ass little maggots' that demand $15 an hour to be snide rude and all around disrespectful taking your order for a hamburger and yet they can barely count your change back to you. Ok. Rant over. I'm just having one of those moments where I just need to shoot something. Doesn't even have to be a living thing. I don't even really need to hit it (I do have an RG). I just need to smell powder and hear the thunk of lead. Then I'll be fine.

We went to The Wall a couple of times. It was very impressive, and VERY quiet. Even babies and little kids didn't cry or get loud there. And I hated it. There's only one person I know who's name is on The Wall, and that's the guy I walked with at baccalaureate and graduation. He was so excited when he told us while we waited in line that he had enlisted in the Marines. I couldn't believe it. I hated that war and was very much against it. He didn't have to go. His parents were in their 40's when he was born, and he was an only child. A sole surviving son. That was in May of 1967. The following September, I went to his funeral. He was only 19. I still grieve for him. Thank you for sharing the virtual wall. It is good to remember Tom.
