How do you camo/disguise the B.O.B. in your car? I just have some blankets thrown over mine but it's obvious something is in there. I need help getting mine under the radar. Any suggestions?

I have a GMHB (get me home bag) in my SUV, but you would never think it. I have "stuff" in the back and in a couple of storage areas, it takes all of 5 minutes to shove it in a folded haversack and go. I had to go through a security check a couple of years ago and the guy inspecting the vehicle said I was the most prepared individual he had inspected in 2 days.
As far as bugging out from my home location, I don't have bags ready but could be good to go in 30 minutes or so.

You may want to consider a window tint. In a lot of states the back windows can essentially be "blacked-out", but usually the drivers windows are limited to a certain tint percentage which varies by state.
My truck has the back glass, with double-limo tent and you really can't see in. But you are still able to see out.

Is there a reason why the trunk can't be used? One of my cars is a jeep which leaves me much like you, out in the open. My P/U is a crew cab and holds a bunch of 'stuff', inside but I want in the near future to find a heavy duty Job box to mount in the back. I'd like to line it and build compartments to hold assorted things, my bag and a few weapons, permanently. All the ones I have found locally are thin metal and not sure if they are going to be water tight. May just have to build one for a winter project.

I don't bother to hide my backpack. Although the SUV windows have enough tint that it makes it hard to see what's there. I also bought a big plastic storage bin at Walmart. It has a hinged lid, handle on top and wheels on one end. It nicely holds all my other emergency gear and to me doesn't look like something that would have anything of interest inside.

I have a 98 Honda CRV. The back windows are clear. I thought about getting an cardboard box, beat it up, give it some oil stains then use it to "camo" my bag. I tried the spare tire well but my bag is to tall/thick.

My GHB sits in a recessed storage area under the back seat in my truck. I have other supplies like rope, gloves, rachet straps all around it so it just looks like some other pack with tools in it.
When I had my car, i had a duffel back with all sorts of stuff in it. One time, I had to get out the jumper cables to help out a co-worker. It took me 5 min to get to them. The guy laughed at me and gave a "wink, knod" saying something like, guess you won't be the guy standing in the FEMA line. I just SMILED back and said, Nope.

I like your storage bin on wheels idea. Of course it could be used to hide gear in and just maybe somewhere along the line it would serve useful for another purpose. Oh yeah, just in case someone gets nosy about what is inside I'd label the outside with large letters, For Cow Manure Use Only. That might give them second thoughts about wanting to check it out. ;D

Is there something here i'm missing. Why not just put it in the trunk of your car. Ok I see it's not a car, does it have seats that fold down in the back. If so you may be able to lay your BOB on the floor then fold the seat down.

The storage bin has the usual jumper cables, fire extinguisher, screw drivers, fleece jacket, change of clothes, blankets and a few bottles of water. The food is in it's own boring looking container. If someone is looking for something they percieve to be valuable they will be disappointed. The value of my gear depends on the situation you're in.

I like idea about beating up the cardboard box. Here is another idea, I did this in one car I had for a little while, I could not get in the trunk. I bought it dirt cheap and the truck latch wouldn't open. So I took a tarp and glued "trash" like fast food bags, newspapers, old oil rags etc. to the tarp and draped it over the BOB in the back floorboard, so it looked like I had trash in there, and I had an extra tarp if I needed it. I couldn't stand the way it looked but it was hidden.

how about making a privacy cover out of thin plywood/heavy duty cardboard and glue some matching material to fit the back compartment or go with "dtucker "urban camo

A large laundry basket sitting in the back seat, overfilled with ratty clothes and even some nasty 'looking' stained underwear on top will keep out all but the most hardened zombie hunters. Would you dig through that basket? I didn't think so........

Would you dig through that basket? I didn't think so........ Now that's a good idea. It also gives me the capability to do a quick grab and go since the basket has handles. Thanks.
