You'll find yourself very happy with it. It will shoot 44 specials, but remember to use a round nose if your doing that. 44 mag is no problem all the way around short of a full wad cutter.

Will, that's a sweet looking gun. Wonder what the difference is between these and the Marlins.. Prices are about the same for .38/.357 mag... If I had a 44 mag pistol I might would consider a 44 mag rifle.. but ammo wise and costs I'm sticking with the .38/.357 mag rifles/pistols. They're good shooters..

Ya'll need to stop it with the .44 talk.... I have already have the itch for a rifle in that caliber and that one fits the bill....

That's how things work on here SirDerrin.. Back when Ceorlman was talking big caliber long guns I started thinking I needed one.. but I decided I was happy and confident in my .270.. I'm the same with the .38/.357 mag Marlin lever guns (although I do like the looks of these) and my same caliber pistols..

Yeppers, I know what you mean....I don't really need one just want it to match the short guns....

That is funny. Every time I watch Open Range I start wanting a octagon barrel 45/70 Marlin cowboy rifle. Or maybe a Uberti 1873? Will, that little rifle I think you would like. My friend got a 357 in that model and I like shooting it. I have a Puma in 45LC I got in trade and it is ok as well. I do believe if I were to go out and buy a new one it would be Marlin. Just a personal favorite. I almost snagged a cowboy 357 octagon Marlin the other day, but by the time I got back with the cash, it was GoNe!

I would go for the Marlin, but I want a stainless steel gun in Florida. I don't think Marlin makes one.

I would go for the Marlin, but I want a stainless steel gun in Florida. I don't think Marlin makes one. I have the Marlin .38/.357 lever in SS. I do like the Rossi, but I happened to come across the Marlin first. It's a great rifle and pairs nicely with a revolver of the same caliber.

I've got a Rossi M92 in 45LC that works great. I've shot 1000s of rounds through it and it's still working great. I've never had to do anything other than clean it.
I only shoot round nose bullets. I've never tried anything else, not sure how it would take something else.
That being said, I've never hunted with it - only targets. I've taken it hunting deer a few times, but didn't have an opportunity to shoot.
