Have you researched the Keltec Sub 2000 at all? I'm not sure of their reliability but, the concept is interesting for a bug out carbine. Lightweight 4 lbs. empty, folds to 16X7 inches and will take Glock 33 round mags. Haven't fired enough through it to speak on reliability, but it shoots true so far and fits easily into a backpack. If you can find one I'd say grab it.

If you are asking....don't sell the Mosin...or the ammo....unless you really, really HAVE to. Unless you really get a deal...you are talking about $200 to $250 max? for rifle and ammo?
Put them in a closet, and forget about them..... and go get what you want.

It was a deal for sure but... put it back and hang on to it. Save your aluminum cans and buy your carbine

ive seen those too. i liked them, but since im trading for this particular firearm, then no money is actually being given out by me. i like that the hi point has a life time warranty too.

looks like ill be saving it then. i have thought about buying it in my backyard now though. lol. i would need lots of pvc for that one. does make sense to keep it, since i do have a good bit of ammo for it too. well, if 440 rounds could be considered a bit.

I'm trading for it this weekend actually. I've got two 9mm pistols, so I'm trading my keltec for it.

Whew......, you have just been saved fro, a 'Wish I wouldn't have done that", situation.
In the past I have purchased firearms from friends that were hard up for money, for what ever reason, give them fair price...with the promise i would give them first crack at buying them back for the same money...... Did it for the reason of saving a good friend a regret that couldn't be reversed.
Had a Ruger M77 .270 that was in and out of my safe 3 different times....and was quite a story.
Friends wife asked me to help her pick out a rifle for her husband for deer hunting, and as I had a M77 in 7 mag, I picked out the .270.....and decent Red field scope
I took him out and sighted it in for/with him....then borrowed it for a out west hunting trip as a "spare'.
Bought it back, and gave him 5 boxes of shells for the kindness.
Year later, he was hurting for money, so I bought it from him, with the condition if his wife ever asked, I would lend it back.
Bought it back, and added a another rifle to a double case, and was stolen on his way "up north" at a gas station, he thought.
Was gone for a year, then urned up at the police station as stolen found property, BUT he has already got the money for new rifles, and they wanted him to pay for it.
I bought it back.....lent it to my, at the time 13 years old nephew, took out and did some shooting, then hunting with him...killed his first deer with it....one shot DRT.
Following, year he killed his first buck...DRT one shot again, so I gave it to him....
The next year he show up hunting with a new Remington 700, 300 win mag...and missed 2 deer, then blew out the front shoulder on another.
He is back to using the .270 again.
Hold on to that Mosin, you never know....

well... i got screwed. this isnt the rifle i planned to trade for, but its a hi point carbine none the less. made the trade, carbine looked a little worn, but the man assured me that it fired correctly. i get back home, and go to a friends house to try it out. loaded the magazine, inserted it, and loaded a round. go to pull the trigger again. nothing. round is fully seated in the chamber. this is one issue. another is a horrible feeding problem, attribute that to a ill seating magazine. 3rd issue is a safety problem. twice, the gun fired, down range, when the safety was released. i emptied the magazine, and put the gun up after that. i called the guy, he had told me it fired no problem. he said he didnt have any issues with it, and he'd have to call his brother about it, which sounded like to me, that he never fired it.
we even pulled it apart and cleaned everything to see if maybe it was a dirty gun issue. wasnt the case.
i hate relying on humanity to do the right thing sometimes. i gave him a cleaned fully functional gun with 4 magazines for a piece of crap. just great.

I hate to hear that, mine was awesome. there is a good chance it is the wrong mag if it does not seat but if as you say it is not the one you wanted or was presented to you go back and give him some attitude

he has failed to call me back as he said he would. and failed to return my texts. Starting to sound like he knew he was taking you for a ride. If your stuck with it, may as well make lemonade. Time to learn how to trouble shoot and repair it.
