Baby safety pins are too short to get much slide distance with the paracord sheath Nobody said anything about speed in getting the job done which is what the thread is about, improvisation. That's why I suggested the safety pin and needles, it'll get the job done.

next item is a 12 oz. aluminum can Aluminum beverage can or food can? Interesting question, one metal is thicker than the other. Pick your preference and we may get feedback on both.

Fold flaps of aluminum over each other forming a handle. file edges of base removing sharp edges, use for spoon. Freeze water in open can (not hard to do in the winter, won't work in summer without freezer). cut slits down the side about every 30 degrees while still frozen. Thaw water out, press on both ends of can. It will flower out the slits. cut two of the slits top and bottom, punch hole in top where the tab connector was. Cut chain links from cut out slits folding and tying them together. Tie aluminum chain to the punched hole. Insert tea light and use for lantern. Cut slivers to use for sewing needles. Cut base off, fold it on itself, hammering it, sharpen edge, use for cleaning animal or fish. Use for collecting fire starting materials.
