Cut the top off the can, make a hole in the ground the same size as the can. Put the can in the hole so it will trap insects, they fall in but can't climb out.

Next Item: empty 20oz. water bottle with cap Apparently no one wants this one. Is this just one bottle or can it be more than one?

I wondered if you meant metal or plastic for the bottle.

"Modification or Improvisation of Gear", one bottle or more than one, whatever ideas you have, let's hear them I say. I wondered if you meant metal or plastic for the bottle. AH, I just threw out there the 20 oz. bottle, just add something you'd do with it whether it's metal, plastic, or rubber, post your ideas.

If you have a compass that develops an air bubble, you can use an exacto knife and slowly drill a hole into it and squeeze out the remaining fluid which is likely a light oil or alcohol/water mix. Next use a tiny syringe like a diabetic uses and fill with lamp oil. Use a spray bottle that offers a stream option and thoroughly wash it but do not try to wipe it. after it dries put a dab of gorilla super glue gel over the hole and let it dry for 24 hours before using. I know the glue says it sets up faster but where oil touches the glue it will keep it malleable until the anaerobic action of the glue dries the inside of the dab. I used this on a Silva Ranger and it works perfectly.
