Nice looking kit, what do you carry it all in? When are you going to try the caps out? The charcloth should be kept in a water tight plastic bag, just like the one with the fatwood shaving. One item you may want to add is a small fresnel lens, it's free fire lighting every time the sun is out. Got mine at walmart where the eye clinic is, came in a three pack.

Hope some rookie cop doesn't stop you and check your bag. They will think you are an arsonist. Nice kit. Oh by the way, I stopped at McDonalds yesterday and they had a special on big straws. Jim

Thanks for the vid...guess I have never heard of that before. Seems like ta "snapper" of some sort in needed?......So you have to bring it and the caps along?
Cool idea, but don't the caps run the danger of getting wet?....Have you tried it with a percussion cap for a muzzleloader?.....or primer for a center fire round?

Can you tell me more about those matches with the paper on them? Any special configuration there or is it just tp wrapped around the match? Have you thought to add trioxelene (sp) tablets? Something obvious a lot of people miss is that orange tube of matches you got there, that piece of metal on the bottom is a small fire steel.

The paper was tp. Tissues work too. They're dipped in wax for increased burning.
