And that was just ten days of a blackout. Really eye opening, let's hope more people watched it and now become preppers too.

Seen some stupidity for sure, folks headed towards the crowd instead of away. Seen Potus didn't do much but talk on TV. Makes me glad I live in rural country rather than city.

Glad I live in the rural country too. Pretty much everything we've discussed at one time or another did happen. As for as other countries coming to our aid, I don't see that happening as we all know how much Americans are now hated thanks to current admin.

Deus ex Machina, the writers crapped out. Lights came back on. Quite possible in a cyber attack, most unlikely with a strong EMP.

Man I hate it when you guys make me learn something new.. lol
A deus ex machina (pronounced [ˈdeus eks ˈmaː.kʰi.na], /ˈdeɪ.əs ɛks ˈmɑːkiːnə/ or /ˈdiːəs ɛks ˈmækɨnə/[1]; from Latin, meaning "god from the machine"; plural: dei ex machina) is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly resolved by the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object. Depending on how it is done, it can be intended to move the story forward when the writer has "painted himself into a corner" and sees no other way out, to surprise the audience, to bring a happy ending into the tale, or as a comedic device.

I loved watching it. I wish everyone would watch it so I won't have to use tactics to discourage their thinking when they come to take my bottle of water or can of peaches.

The wife actually set this to record. She seems to go up and down with it. When I first started nudging here towards it and feeding her info, she got all gung ho and then peter out ans complain about how much we were spending. Then, something will happen and she'll be all gung ho again. I use these times to get away with the larger purchases and then pick away at the smaller stuff when the complaining starts. We haven't watched this yet. Probably sometime this week. I'm prepared for the "gung ho" phase.

Can you imagine the chaos at large themed amusement parks with riders stuck high in the air on roller coasters stuck in the upside down position or even being on a ferris wheel. Or how about being in an elevator at the near top level of the Empire State Building, now that would really suck.

Riding elevators and getting stuck in one between floors would be another as I'm claustrophobic.

Did y'all notice the amount of garbage bags piling up on the curb, that's insane. The only time I saw that much garbage near our curbs was from people whose homes got gutted from being flooded. Can you imagine the diseases fermenting in all those bags.
Which reminds me, I read somewhere that paper facemasks should only be worn for an hour then changed to a new one. Can anyone weigh in on this?

They didn't do a very good job with reality on this one. How many here think the cops would still be around after the fourth or so day? The premise of the show would equate to post Katrina on a national scale. How many here remember the number of cops awol from the N.O.P.D? On that scale, it would amount to 1/2 or so of all police, and that is an optimistic assumption. How many cops with family are still going to be holding the blue line when their families are left alone to fend for themselves? The average home has less than three days food at any given time, with no more than a day or two of liquids to drink. On time delivery means the average store would be out of food and water in less than three days. Then there are the EBT cards. The majority of those people are day to day. It wasn't long ago when that system died in 17 states for less than 24 hours. Imagine what will happen when it goes down for ten days.
How many here picked up on the anti gun message in that show, or the pro big government message?
Ten days may as well be an eternity if its a nationwide event. They also left out what would happen to our neighboring countries, as well as what the rest of the world would do if it got the idea America was out of the picture. Such an event would crash and burn the worlds economy as well.

That's what I like about these shows, they make you think. Not only what you see but what you don't see or what it lacks. I thought the father made a mistake by leaving the bunker alone, no one to watch his back. The boy was old enough to go and help secure the grounds. Also someone should have been posted just outside the bunker in case the father and son had to make a dash back to the bunker. Remember one is none and two is one but three has got you covered. One more thing the bunker should have been designed so you can shoot and protect what is yours without going outside or to far from the bunker.
