I made a batch of these Monday evening - 11-10-2013 My batch turned out great ! , but my Lady friend did the second batch (lower heat and longer bake time ) and they turned out even better . I guess the altitude may have had something to do with the heat and bake time . My Mom used to make potato biscuits and have not had them in many years . Thanks for the recipe

What about instant mashed taters? If instant potatoes are all you have give it a shot. As long as it's one cupful like the recipe states it wouldn't hurt to try.

Third grade class, teacher brought the milk cream in a jar and we each took turns shaking the jar to make homemade butter. She spread the butter on slices of bread and topped it off with homemade fig preserves for us to eat. What a treat that was!

Plus the liquid that's left is butter milk, a great ingredient for buttermilk biscuits

I spent a lot of Saturday mornings with a gallon jar filled with cream fresh from 'Beauty' (a jersey). Wax paper under the screw on lid and a tea towel.. the first two times I was so proud to be able to do it.. after that it almost was punishment.. the fun had gone.. right up until I spread it on homemade biscuits with my Mother's applesauce or peach preserves.

You used a gallon size jar no wonder it was torture.

Well when you have your own milk cow and she's milked twice a day, the cream begins to accumulate.. although we used it over our oatmeal and cereal.. (I can hear the nutritionists now.. screaming over creaming) and we kept it in a half gallon ALUMINUM pitcher (I wish I had that pitcher.. it was right handy). No sissies in this family.. it was our only barbell.. a gallon jar full of cream turning into butter. lol That was a whole lot of shakin' goin' on..
