Cant wait to try her out. Think im going to order a longer tube and put a light on it. Not sure though. I am open to opinions if yall have any.

Should be yours by next fall if the OBamacare folks are doing it Not sure if it is a state thing or a federal thing. They said that no matter what it is mine friday. I don't have to wait for approval, I was just denied for an immediate purchase. They might get a call back after someone with a higher clearance than myself has the time to check some box somewhere to make it ok. Never had this happen previously. Oh well, what a great way to start the weekend with a new gun!

And she is all mine. Picked up few hundreds rounds at the rural king for 5$ per 25. Lowest I have seen them since I began looking after I decided to buy the shotgun. Not sure when I will get out but all over the net is nothing but rave reviews about it. Mine has the comfortec recoil system in the stock. Supposed to be really nice. Ill let ya'll know if you care.

I have an 835 Mossberg. And though it has served quite well, I been looking at the 887 Remington Tactical and the one you just purchased. And though there has been some issues with the 887, I tend to lean towards it. Mainly as it has a Rem Choke. It just gives you so many more options.
Pattern your new baby with different types of ammo. Don't forget even #4 buck. Something like 44 pellets per 3 in load. if your shotgun holds 5 rounds that's 220 .24 caliber projectiles coming out of the barrel in short order.
Having said all that gobbley-goo, I am also of the opinion that a shotgun is my backup to a handgun, inside the home. Just me.
Be sure to tell of your experience with it!

Oh man what a good fun time! The range was ridiculessly busy so not really any patterning per say but this thing is nice. I put 100 ish through it and loved every second of it. Put some 00 buck through it, #4, 7,8, I bought a couple boxes of slugs but didnt want to waste them just to waste them so I will go back on a not so busy day and have another wack at it. The 00 buck was the same we use for the military. This gun eats it all up and then some. Points super naturally for me, feels great in the hands, and the best part is this new comfotec stock they have on it. I know I shot this weekend, well my shoulder does, but it just feels like I got a really good shoulder workout in if that makes sense. I have put 15 rounds through the mossberg 500 that we are issued and felt 300% worse in my shoulder. I tore it apart when I got home cleaned'er up nice and right like. Sometime this week or weekend I will see what she can really do when the range is mine alone.

Finished finals and decided to use my free time at the local outdoor range.
Um I know I said the recoil system was great. That was with target loads. 7 or 8 I forget which.
OO buck after 10 slugs and then some #4 and some Turkey loads. The shoulder is bruised.
Shoot the 3 1/2 shells and it puts a wallop on you.
Didn't bother get pics as the range had a group of "don't tread on me" shirt wearing fully kitted up idiots messing with their weapons while others were down fixing their targets so the closest target I shot was 30 ish yards. I did manage to put 5 slugs into a man sized target at 100ish yards the first go around.
I'm going to make some pvc stands for targets soon so I can manually adjust the distance.
All in all I love the gun and am very happy with the purchase.
The adjustments for the ghost ring sights are very hard to adjust. Was about the only bad I have to report on the weapon.

$400 well spent seems to me. Ice that shoulder soldier. (Say that 3 times real fast)

3.5 is oly really good for goose and maybe turkeys IMO. Kuts, have u tried to cycle the Federal Reduced Recoil slug/00 rounds? I shot some thru my 870 and they are a real pleasure compared to full on loads.
