Can you do a tutorial on how to make useful stuff from it? That would be cool. To be honest, I would have passed right by it w/o a second thought. Like GI Joe says, "knowing is half the battle!"

It's nature's band-aid too, if I remember correctly.

OT, instead of coal in a Christmas stocking, you can put pine pitch. It is a multi use item.

Looks like I'm gonna have to plant some pine trees to get to harvest some pine pitch too.

Melt pine pitch and mix with deer or elk droppings for natures epoxy / arrow fletching's and attaching stone points . Perfect fire starter and can be mixed with soap for a great medicinal soap .
Great post Offtrail and THX

Ok here is a video I did a while back, made my first pine pitch glue sticks and fire starters. Some of you may remember this video and for the ones that don't here it is. It's not very good but you got to start somewhere right.

Here is another video I did using pine pitch to make a small lamp. I found a rock that would hold oil or pine pitch and used it for a lamp. just about anything that burns will work as a wick, lay the pitch down first then your wick and give it a light.
