Nicely done OT and I have to agree about using mustard like Thywar and Missasip mentioned. It gives it a whole new taste which you should like and kills some of the strong fish flavor.

So you throw the hook with bait and the fish bite it correct? What do you know that I don't OT? I didn't see what bait you where using, but I was using the wrong kind evidently.

I take it you got skunked  is that correct? Fishing can be that way sometimes and yes it happens to me also. Tell me what you were fishing for, and what you used for bait. And how you rigged your line and where you were fishing. If it was a lake give me the name and ill check it out for you. |

Mustard... In between the coatings of milk/egg mix and corn meal milk/egg, mustard, milk/egg, corn meal and a little Tony Chachere's My dad uses a very similar recipe. Mustard makes all the difference. I'm going to have to find a new pond to fish in though. Parents neighbor used to let us go fishing there but he's been hoarding it pretty badly last couple years. Now it's overstocked and the fish are not growing to well. |

However a huge storm came through the day before, and it was 45ish degrees so I didn't put a lot of time into it. I was using a small yellow grub with a tail on it, I had the sinker about 1 1/2 to 2 feet above the hook and it was fairly windy so I had to use a heavy sinker just to get it to cast it any distance. It was at reif snider state forest at the big lake they have there.
