When Anna was still alive, she'd occasionally tease us about our "trying to kill her off" with laughter. She happened to have life insurance at one of her jobs but her illness forced her to quit that job. We kept her laughing anyway. I still want to video my tackle box and its goodies for you -- see what you have to say about it. Today may be the day since it's supposed to be a rather dismal day and my main additional task involves liberal use of a vacuum cleaner.

Laughter is great medicine -- if you're not coughing your head off! OK, I'm uploading the video as I type this. It should be ready by suppertime [insert sarcasm here over the s-l-o-w pace at which youtube accepts uploads].

Just noticed that a couple others didn't upload properly... fixing that too but it's slow going. My uploads to youtube took hours untill I switched to Google chrom. Now my uploads take no longer then half an hour. For longer uploads go incognito window and the upload will be even faster...hope that helps ;D

www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbrDc8NPOYE This is the link to my quick little video showing the fishing tackle. What I didn't show was the fact that I always carry my Wave on my belt and a pair of polarized sunglasses either on my face or in a handy pocket. Maybe I should add that I've never caught anything large enough to warrant toting a disgorging tool. Bluegills and rainbow trout are all I've caught that were big enough to eat -- but then again, there was easily a 40-year gap in my fishing career. [Pats self on head at passing OT's (FW's) inspection] ;D

I would have no problem fishing out of your kit, in fact send it to me and ill tweak it for you ;D

Angelhelp, great job on the tackle box. You have a variety of quite a few items of gear and that helps. My only suggestion is adding more hooks of various sizes for longer term. Unseen items underwater that snag your line to the point of not unhooking it will cause you to lose hook, line and sinker so to speak. It doesn't take long to lose many in no time.

I take it you got skunked is that correct? Fishing can be that way sometimes and yes it happens to me also. Tell me what you were fishing for, and what you used for bait. And how you rigged your line and where you were fishing. If it was a lake give me the name and ill check it out for you. Yeah no fish. However a huge storm came through the day before, and it was 45ish degrees so I didn't put a lot of time into it. I was using a small yellow grub with a tail on it, I had the sinker about 1 1/2 to 2 feet above the hook and it was fairly windy so I had to use a heavy sinker just to get it to cast it any distance. It was at reif snider state forest at the big lake they have there. Here is a link. mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/applications/moatlas/AreaSummaryPage.aspx?txtAreaID=5805&txtAreaNm=&txtCounty=WARREN&txtRegion=&txtUserID=guest&txtDivision=I was casting it and slowly reeling it back in. I am an amaetur in fishing so any help/suggestions are always welcome from you experts. Generally speaking, right after a front comes through, leave the fishing gear at the house. Fish get lock jaw at that point. Just before the front comes through is usally a great time to wet a line. In the spring fishing can be very finicky sometimes. Fronts coming through keepm the fish off base. Around here once the bream go to bed, then it can get VERY crazy!!! I can not remember how many times I have limited out in an hour or so!. One thing I tell new fisherman is this. Learn to catch 'em with live bait at first. Learn from it why the fish like a particular bait and then come up with the fake bait that works that way. Fish like largemouth bass are mostly reaction type biters. And that can vary from one season to another. I have caught catfish in every month of the year. Used every type of bail dead/live. Guess that's why I'm such a big lover of old wiskers... ;D Just keep trying your luck. Find someone who is a fisherman and try to hang out with them and learn. Good luck. Jimmy

OT/FW, how 'bout I just tell 'em that you sent me? ;D OK, I suppose I could toss a small but long pair of long-nosed pliers in the box. I had no trouble with the bluegills back in the early 70s, and my fingers aren't any bigger now. I'm thinking that the pliers would be useful when avoiding teeth. Yes, one can never have too many hooks. I try to find them on sale, same for sinkers, floaters, and artificial baits.

My husband kept a small bent needle nose pliers in his tackle box to unhook fish and now it is in my tackle box. I've used it many times and like it a lot especially when I catch flatheads.
