Usually when I make beef jerky it's for the family as Christmas presents. In between, it's mine, all mine. However, when my neighbor makes a request I oblige him and charge him peanuts because he's good to me. Mostly he pays meat costs and some ingredients and my time and he's still getting a bargain. A week and a half ago when he came in from offshore he had another request. His friends on the boat with him like my jerky more than their usual source and would like me to make them some too and charge them by the pound. I've never even attempted to keep track of my expenses. As of yesterday and today this is what I'm doing, adding up all my time and costs to factor in a price per pound. My neighbor told me their usual source is selling their jerky $25. a pound and they will buy 5-8 lbs. without blinking. I'm familiar with their source and I know hands down my jerky is better than theirs. So add on what you're doing today if you would like or add your input on mine.

Hanging out with our daughters and one son in law who could make the trip β β other's work changed the rules in January and he could not come. Doing all the Myakka River Tours on the water to see the gators and the land and next stop going down to Sarasota area to meet with my mom for hors d'oeuvres and drinks and then out to Sharkeys on the pier in Venice to eat dinner and watch the sunset.
DH and I got a lovely walk in before all this started on the World famous white sand Siesta key beach, saying a Rosary and just enjoying the two dolphins that accompanied us on our walk.
1st Family vacation ever with sons-in-law and sorry that the other one could not make it. We will drive up to Ann Arbor on our way home to see him and take him and lovely daughter number one out to dinner to make him feel better.

As little as possible. Fed the chickens, moved some stuff around, finished one granddaughter's birthday present (a crocheted teddy bear) and started on another one for another granddaughter's birthday. Took the garbage and recycling out of the house to the cans, pulled the garbage can to the curb and brought the recycle can back. I've been sick and nursing a headache and I think I just figured out that Tylenol gives me intestinal problems. Anyone ever heard of such a thing? I don't mean a sick tummy, I mean get outta my way I gotta hit the can. If I can't take Tylenol I'm in deep doo doo, because the Xarelto I'm on means I can't have any other OTC painkiller than acetaminophen. Not even aspirin. That means Rxs, a route for painkilling I do not want to go because of how much I enjoy it. I don't even have a doctor right now either, because my regular pulled up stakes and hit the road last month, but had already been dropped by our Blue Cross/Blue Shield and was on probation by the state of AZ for overprescribing opoids and poor record keeping. Oh, and as if that weren't bad enough, his PA (an old friend, known him for decades) told that office he was retiring and left too. Only I checked the AZ records and his license is still valid, so he jumped that sinking ship and I don't blame him one bit.
Wow, I wrote another novel. Sorry, but thanks for the shoulder.

Nothing different except caught 2 possums in a live trap, one each the last two nights. One male and one female.
They were outside the chicken coop on the fence line looking for a way in. Live trap set so it looks like a hole in the fence gets most animals without needing bait, but I put a little tuna or a chicken bone it there.
We caught a coon about a month ago and I have been surprised to have not caught more of them.
Our cat has figured out not to go in it. She is the reason we use live traps, don't want to kill her. We have caught some neighbors cats and just let them go.
We have two batches of chicks growing down there. The 6 Barred Rocks are 3 months and the 6 Rhode Island Reds are 1 month. All are hens and lay the brown eggs.
Have eye surgery Thursday

Mostly freaking out. Just found out I can't afford my blood thinner here in the US. I need to get a 3 month prescription faxed to Canada b/c it's SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper, but I don't have a doctor any more, it takes 3 weeks to get it when I do, and I'm totally out as of today. This sux so bad.

Yes that can be a bad thing. Two days without my blood thinner and I would be having strokes.
I don't know what it is like there but here people can go to a walk in clinic and get prescription refills written. I know several people who have copies of their med records and don't have a specific Dr but just use the clinics.
My Wife did the RX in Canada route when she was between Dr's and it worked out OK.
We have done the no job no insurance several times during our 48 years together, a few times with 3 kids, and it sucks.
