Well it would be a shame for such a storied brand to shut down. Certainly not the first but Colt is so ingrained in the psyche of the settling of the American West it would be a huge loss.

I don't disagree. 3 things need to happen for them to recover. 1. Move all operations into a firearm friendly state that has lower taxes. 2. Be responsive to their customers. They have ignored the public too long on too many things. 3. Change their overall business plan. They are relying to much on the government for sales.

I kinda liking the convertible revolvers.......45 Blackhawk joins the Ruger Single Six, w/22lr and .22 mag cylinders. This Ruger Old Army, can shoot BP with round balls, or conical bullets... And with the conversion cylinder, can also shoot .45 lc......either smokeless powder....or can re-load with black powder.... How cool is that? Guess I need to find a Blackhawk in .38/.357 and with .9mm cylinder.

They should've upped and left this godawful state the same month that SB 1160 was passed. Heck, every gun manufacturer should've done that. I must concur with #2 and 3 as I've handled more Colts in the Marine Corps than afterwards.

My personal trigger preference is always the one that helps create the sound of 'hell dude, you shot me'.

Don't care for a super light trigger. SW is the better choice for competition, but I'd rather train with what I carry. A ruger is typically what I had for revolvers, though the ocassional Taurus sneaks in.
That was before the gypsy circus monkeys came to town. Now it's down to a sling shot.

I really wish that those darned TN circus monkeys had not learned how to travel. Seems like every time a person gets a shiny new toy, the monkeys show up!
If you couple that fact with all of the boating accidents - where things have fallen overboard (always in the deepest areas)....... It is easy to understand why so many people are down to rocks, a few sharp sticks, maybe a slingshot - or perhaps a Röhm Gesellschaft revolver if they are really, really well off.
Dagnabit, indeed, Crash!!

So many fine revolvers never enough time and money. Owned several revolvers over the years. Down to two at the moment. Ruger super blackhawk. 44 Mag 4 & 5/8". Not to big. Weighs only a few ounces more than my old Smith 686. Hits a lot harder especially with the 320 grain hardcast handloads. Talk about penetration! If that's not enough I use my other Ruger. A super redhawk 454 Casull. No its not a 500 Smith. It doesnt weigh as much as a rifle either! No muzzle break either. It can however be loaded to pressures higher than a 30.06.... can also digest 45 colt loads. From mild to 44 Mag levels....when one really needs to reach out full power Casull loads can deliver more energy at a hundred yards than a 44 Mag churns up point blank. I must admit those same loads test ones recoil tolerance as well.
